TrY-umph with a (reason) Y following our personal consultations. Not only will they to help you to understand how to improve your health physically, nutritionally and mentally, but also to tailor goals and programmes in harmony with your life circumstances. Sessions are £50/hour of which 50% can then be put towards any of our other TrY-Sports and Fitness offerings.

Locally Based Personal Trainers

Qualfications:

  • QCF Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training (YMCA)
  • QCF Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (YMCA)
  • Trained in Suspension Fitness (YMCA)
  • Member of Register of Exercise Professionals for Level 3 (REPs)

Philosophy and Approach:

At Torr de Force, I feel it is important to take a holistic approach to the health and fitness of you as a client as there are so many factors that contribute to your overall wellbeing.  Via a detailed consultation, I look at your nutritional intake, your levels of physical activity, your nutritional and fitness history and your overall lifestyle.  We would then work together to set achievable short, medium and long-term goals.

I am also very interested in how psychology affects your approach to nutrition and fitness and encourage you to devise ways to avoid lapsing and to firmly establish tactics that will help you deal with future unavoidable life situations that might cause stress where, in the past, you might have resorted to more unhealthy behaviours.  This is where clients might find themselves in the yo-yo cycle of weight loss followed by weight gain.

As a mother of two young children, I am aware of how your body and your mind can change after having had children.  I am keen to work with mums who want to, on a psychological level, regain their sense of identity and increase their self-confidence and, physically, increase their fitness levels and target areas that they feel insecure about.  I also understand that time is precious and would talk with them about how they could fit in a healthy eating and exercise regime around their children.
